I don't think it's a mistake from West ham to be honest,it was a massive massive mistake from the planners and the like who designed the stadium, they didn't think long term and the Daves long term aim was for us to move, it was a shame they didn't come I'm 3 years earlier when the stadium designs were being done and declared and interest then, it may well have turned out that a design could have been made with football after in mind.

It is the owners fault, they could've said no it's going to be shit and not a football stadium.

Isn't everbody in the media saying the same thing? Most commentators I've heard are saying the same. Deep down we know they're right but we're stuck with it so just have to front it oug now. Could have done without the shit start which is magnifying every flaw. The Daves would never have come here without an eye on that stadium. I wish we'd never won the Olympic bid.

If the stadium is so bad why can other teams play so well in it ?.

Nothing to do with the Stadium there is a football pitch in the middle of that stadium which other teams seam to be aware of and they play on it West ham players for some reason die on it.

Re: Radio commentator alan green on the new stadium
The way we played we would have lost at Upton Park, Wembley Stadium or Hackney Marshes.

We were abject, nothing to do with the stadium or the pitch.

Re: Radio commentator alan green on the new stadium
Just how much does the stadium you play in inspire a performance from a player?

The away teams coming to the OS are clearly never going to be affected by lack of atmosphere, only affected negatively by a good atmosphere.

Atm, our lack of atmosphere is doing nothing to affect the away team's performances. Which is unlike what used to happen at The Boleyn.

So I think the stadium has a fairly big influence on performances.

Alan Green calls it like he thinks it is. Whether he is right or wrong is another matter. SirFerg famously fell out with him and banned him from OT.

Re: Radio commentator alan green on the new stadium
I think in days gone by some teams hated playing at the Boleyn when there was a fantastic atmosphere and it could be argued that our last win there against Man United was because of that atmosphere pushing the team over the line. I haven't been to the OS as of yet but watching it on TV it looks like a game being played in a neutral athletics stadium with a pitch in the middle. I suspect as of yet it just doesn't feel like a home but it's done and dusted now so that's that. Just a pity no one had to foresight to realise that it may make way to football eventually and design it as such,.

Re: Radio commentator alan green on the new stadium
What fucking choice did we have? All you cunts lamenting Upton Park but had we not pitched in for the new stadium we would have been watching fucking Tottenham setting up home in our fucking manor. We were fucked if we did and fucked if we didn't. So stop the fucking bleating and get behind the fucking team.

You're right. We never lost to saints at Upton Park. Nor any other teams.

I went to many many games at the boleyn where the atmosphere was shit.

There's a lot of rose tinted nostalgia glasses surrounding the boleyn.

I miss it too, but let's not make up how much of a fortress it was. it's time to move on now.

The stadium is a fucking disaster, its an absolute shitpot of a football ground. Not one cunt would have opted to play in the fucking place had they known what it was going to be like. We were sold a load of lies and i dont think we can underestimate the negative affect this is having on the team. I was for the move how it was sold to us but the reality is completely different to that.
New Ground, new training ground, new badge new supporters! The arsenalfacation of west ham. Its wrong and very very sad indeed.
